Understanding Benefits:
What is Short-Term Disability Insurance?
Short-Term Disability is an insurance plan that is designed to replace a portion of your paycheck if you are unable to work due to an off-the-job sickness or accident.
Short-Term Disability covers back problems, knee disorders, pregnancy, and accidents, as well as sicknesses such as cancer, strokes, mental illness or heart attacks. The typical short term disability plan replaces 50% or 60% of your earnings, and begins paying a certain number of days following the disability. You will then be able to collect for a number of weeks, perhaps 13 weeks or 26 weeks, depending on your company’s plan. Consider Short-Term Disability for peace of mind and financial protection.
