Understanding Health Insurance:
What is dental insurance?
Dental work is usually not covered by standard medical insurance, so voluntary dental insurance can fill this gap in coverage and keep you smiling.
Much like other health insurance plans, you pay for dental insurance directly out of your paycheck. You’ll have a deductible, and once that is met, you and your insurer will share the cost of services. Some services, such as orthodontia, may not be included or may have separate maximums and have age limits. Preventive services, however, are usually covered completely, even before you meet your deductible.
